Excerpt from, 1950 Spruce Budworm Control Project. Oregon State Board of Forestry. Salem, Oregon. March, 1951:

"Base headquarters for the project in eastern Oregon were established at Heppner. For this purpose two buildings of the former Heppner C.C.C. Camp were leased from the Morrow County Court.

Secondary headquarters were established at the Northeast Oregon State Protection District headquarters at LaGrande and at the sub-district headquarters at Ukiah."
