Description1953 Lloyd (8233834648).jpg |
This picture from March 1953 shows one of the very first Lloyd cars to get steel fenders. Prior to this all Lloyd car bodies were made of wood with a leatherette covering over. Very few Lloyd cars from that period have survived. You can see quite a lot of wood panels (dark color) on this one. I have a very large number of original Lloyd press photos from the 1950s, and here is a sampling today. Lloyd vehicles were produced by Carl F W Borgward in Bremen, Germany. |
