Description

Ford had been producing factory made pickup trucks since 1925. In 1953, the F-1 Pickup became the F-100. With these 1953-56 second generation F Series pickups, the cab was extended, they got a stylish new grille, and longer hood that flowed into the front fenders. They were clean and modern, but they also tough, solid, practical, and ruggedly handsome. 1954 saw a revised 'strut mounted' grille, the V8 Flathead replaced with the Y Block and the 'Ford-O-Matic was now an option. 1955 got the new 'V' type grille with V8 above or a star for the 6, the Custom Cab was a new name for the DeLuxe. Available in Standard or new for 55, the Custom Cab, featuring chrome 'Custom Cab' door emblems, chrome upper grille bar with serrations and an upmarket interior. Models available were; 1/2 ton F-100, 3/4 ton F-250, 1 ton F-350 and the 'Big Job' F-700.

Engines; 115hp 223 cu in 6 cyl or 162hp 272 cu in Y block V8.
