Summary edit

Description

The Series II built from 1952-56, replaced the MM, the headlights were moved to the wings and it got a new engine. William Morris said it looked like a poached egg, but was quite an advanced little car for its day, with rack and pinion steering and independent front suspension. Still available in 2 or 4 door and Convertible, The Traveller Estate (with external wooden trim), Van and Pickup were introduced in 1953. A facelift in 1954 saw a new grille and the trafficators replaced with indicators. In 1956 replaced with the Morris 1000 (1 piece windscreen) with the increased engine size of 998cc. The Van was built from 1953-71. Engine; New 803cc 4 cyl OHV shared with the Austin A30
