English: rectangular outlines claiming to describe a garden in "Ashref", which the author alleges was already under construction when Pietro della Valle travelled through Persia. Ashref itself had been a town of Persia in the province of Mazandaran, about 50 m. W. of Astarabad and 5 m. inland from the Caspian Sea, in 36° 42' N. and 53° 32 E (Encyclopaedia Brittanica 1911), so it can be identified as modern Behschahr, possibly this garden.
