Description

The MG Magnette was originally a sports car of the 30s, from 1953 on, it was a saloon. The 1st ZA and ZB saloons were replaced in 1959 by the new Farina shaped Mk III. Along with the Austin Cambridge, Morris Oxford, Wolseley 15/60 and Riley 4/68 were now all produced by BMC. The Austin and Morris were the basic cars, the others, a bit more upmarket, the MG got a walnut veneer dash and door cappings as well as by the leather upholstery. Engine; 1489cc 4 cyl. the MG and the Riley got twin SU carburettors

The 1961 update, the Mk IV, with slightly less sharply pointed tailfins, got the larger 1622cc engine
