Description
English: This 1968 photograph showed the terrain outside of a Red Cross refugee relief camp during the Nigerian-Biafran civil war. The CDC responded to widespread famine among refugees of the civil war by carrying out rapid health and nutrition assessments, coordinating the overall health and nutrition response, and implementing surveillance systems to track rates of illness and death.
