Description

With the VH Valiant, a more powerful 265 cu in hemi 6 was introduced. This is the earlier 3 speed E38 RT, later E49 version got the 4 speed. The E38 Engine was a 280 bhp 265 Hemi 6 cylinder 6 pack, (triple side-draught Weber 2BBL carburettors)

This car raced in the 1971 Hardie Ferodo 500 at Bathurst driven by Norm Beechey and Jim McKeown, it finished 6th in Class D and 12th overall (Allan Moffat won the race in a XY Falcon GTHO) This was the 3rd E38 to finish out of 12, 3rd was the best result the following year out of 6 E49s and 1 E38 raced
