This might actually be my favourite find so far this year. I absolutely love Mk1 Ford Escorts, and I never thought I'd see one like this outside a show. Can you get any more original?!

It interests me for several reasons: 1. It's a 3 door hence worth a million pounds to some silly person. 2. It's so original right down to the wheels and single mirror placed in the correct position. 3. It was in a very tidy, but clearly used condition. 4. These are one of my all time favourites!

Just lovely, such a perfect colour too. Original pressed plates still in position, rather than some later black and white add ons. Most have had rostyles of some other aftermarket wheels fitted. I can't imagine there's too many with the mirror still in situ on the bonnet! So glad to see one of these and not a horrible Mexico or a replica. In almost all cases of old cars, I prefer the lower/ base specs. This one comes up on Cartell as a 1300L, but I think it's actually an 1100 L, judging by the DVLA engine size and the badge which was on the opposite side. I don't think I'm going to find another like this out of a show. Comes up as only having two owners too, which suggests to me that the current owner uses it as a daily driver rather than being an enthusiast. I don't think this one attends shows.
