I almost wonder whether I should even continue taking photos of these Mk2s, as they are still such a common sight on NZ roads nearly 40 years after the last one was built (ironically that car was assembled in NZ!) In fact, the Mk2 2000/2500 was so popular in NZ that it was assembled locally until 1979 to meet demand, two years after UK production ended. Just under 30,000 of them were assembled in NZ and from what I've seen a large number of them are still in existence - not necessarily on the road though there would be several thousand still road-going I think. Remember that it's 2016 and NZ only has a population of about 4.5 million - crazy! New Zealand would have to be the most successful market for these cars; possibly even more so than their native UK.
