Rebecca Myring Everette (Mrs. Thomas Everette) and her five children. Girl is seen at left holding pink rose. Mrs. Everette holds baby, who wears red shoes, white dress, and holds bunch of strawberries in each hand. One boy wears red skeleton suit, while other boys wear black skeleton suits. Oil on canvas by Joshua Johnson. Johnson was the first African American painter to make his living as an artist.
