Description

The Mk II Escort was introduced in 1974 and replaced by the Laser in 1980, it was similar mechanically to the Mk I but got a squarer body and new dash. Built in England and also assembled in Australia and NZ Available in 2 or 4 door, estate (only in UK and NZ) and van Models were the L, GL or luxury Ghia, (1.1, 1.3 or 1.6)

the performance models were the Sport (1.6 Kent), RS Mexico (1.6 Pinto), RS1800 (Cosworth head and BDA) and the RS2000 (2.0 Pinto and polyurethane slant nose) In the UK the RS2000 was only available as a 2 door, only in Australia was the 4 door available.
