The WB Holden was built from 1980 to 1984. It was a facelift version of the HZ, but only available in the commercial vehicle and Statesman body styles. The WB was pretty much the old HQ -HZ underneath, but most panels were changed with the new squared off look. Not only did it get new large rectangular lights front and rear, also new heavy looking bumpers and heavy looking side protection moulds. A new Opera window was added to the C pillar in the WB Statesman, the roof was extended to suit. Like earlier Statesmans, the WBs were available in Deville or upmarket Caprice. The DeVille got a simpler grille and a black dash, the Caprice more elaborate grille and walnut dash. 1983 saw an updated model, the Series II, identified by new badging. The WB Magnum was based on either the WB Statesman Deville or Caprice. From there, HDT fitted their Magnum Pack to the car, consisting of the Group 3 spec 5 litre engine, Bilsten shock absorbers and lowered suspension, as well as some finer detailing such a chrome rocker covers, 15 inch alloy wheels, Momo steering wheel, cold air intake and many other modifications.
