Summary edit

Description

The railway line between İzmit-Ankara started operating on 27 November, 1892. The first railway station was a small and modest structure and it was inaugurated with a ceremony. The residents of Ankara flooded in the railway station to participate in the ceremony and to see the very first train which came to the city. A new railway station was decided to be constructed in 1934. Sabri Şekip Akalın, a 25-year old architect working for the Ministry of Transport, was assigned for the construction works. The new railway station, the construction of which started on November 3, 1935 was completed on September 2, 1937 and put into service on September 30, 1937.

Sürücü faytonun ön kısmındaki yerine oturmuş, her an harekete hazır. Faytona iki at koşulmuş.
