English: The 1st Aero Squadron in the field. This photograph has to have been taken either at Columbus prior to the flight into Mexico on March 19, 1916, or just after the arrival near Casas Grandes on the morning of March 20, since Lt. Bowen crashed in S.C. No. 48, the third aircraft in line, late on the morning of March 20.
