Description
English: "20,000 Combat Sorties: Marine Attack Squadron 311 [VMA-311] has flown an all time record high for combat sorties in the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing [1st MAW]. Brigadier General Homer S. Hill, left, assistant wing commander, congratulates Captain Thomas W. Krimminger, who earned the distinction of flying the squadron’s 20,000th combat sortie. Squadron executive officer, Major Don Yelek, was also on hand to give the squadron congratulations (official USMC photo by Sergeant R. R. Keene)."
