| Description |
End of the 22km branch from Rybník. Opened in 1911 and (unusually) electrified from the very start. Originally 1280V dc, around 1927 was changed to 1500V dc. Finally in 2005 a few years after line from Summerau through to České Budějovice was electrified, voltage was changed to the standard 25kV ac. Nowadays the line is only operated with electric traction during the summer season as seen here on 20 June 2015. Single cabbed loco 210.039 has arrived at the terminus station having hauled 3 old DMU trailers, train Os18860, 15:02 Rybník to Lipno nad Vltavou. Off season, the line is worked by a single or 2-car DMU. |
