Description

Deutsch: 02.05.2004 06577 Heldrungen (An der Schmücke), Schloßstraße 13: Festung Heldrungen, Wasserburg (GMP: 51.299019,11.218721). Im Kern 13. Jahrhundert, Anfang 16. Jahrhundert zur Festung ausgebaut. 1645 zerstört. 1664-68 Wiederaufbau nach den Grundsätzen der italienisch-französischen Festungsbauweise. Musterbeispiel einer Regular-Fortifikation. Fast vollständig erhaltene Erdwallbefestigung. In der DDR-Zeit wurden ab 1974 umfangreiche Sanierungs- und Restaurierungsmaßnahmen durchgeführt. Eine Gedenkstätte an den Bauernkriegsführer Thomas Müntzer wurde eingerichtet und nach der Wende wieder entfernt. 2004 Hotel. [DSCN3165.JPG]20040502580DR.JPG(c)Blobelt
