Norwich Cathedral, Monument to Dr Thomas Moore (1716-1779), Professor of Sacred Theology (Sacrae Theologiae Professor), a grandson of w:Henry Moore, 1st Earl of Drogheda (died 1675). He married Elizabeth Hare (1713-1787), the only daughter and sole heiress of Sir Thomas Hare, 4th Baronet (1686–1760) of Stow Bardolph, Norfolk. Arms: Azure, on a chief indented or three mullets pierced gules (Moore), with inescutcheon of pretence (for his heiress wife) Gules, two bars and a chief indented or (Hare). Crest: Out of a ducal coronet or a man's head proper filleted round the temples azure and or. Inscribed in Latin:

M(emoriae) S(acrum) Thomae Moore, S.T.P., &c. concerning his personal characteristics.

His ledger stone survives nearby, inscribed in Latin as follows (text from: Farrer, Edmund, Church Heraldry of Norfolk, Vol 3 (1893) Lynn, Norwich, Thetford, Yarmouth, pp.1-2[1]):

"Sub hoc marmore jacet omne quod mortale fuit Thomae Moore, S.T.P. de Stemmate si quaeratur Honorabilis viri Henrici Moore, S.T.P., Cui Pater erat Henricus de Drogheda Comes, in Hiberniae Regno, filius erat natu secundus. Si de prole nullam Elizabetham solam Thomae Hare Baronetti filiam, de Stow Bardolph in Comitatu Norfolciae, viduam eheu! maestam post se reliquit. Quae vivum cum unice amabat, et mortuam prout, fas est deflet, 7^mo Cal. Aug. A^nno C^L 1779, 63 annos natus, obiit diem supremam, Haec autem talem, secuta est virum aetatis suae 74, nonis Julii An. Dom. 1787."

Sacred to the memory of Thomas Moore, STP on slab: Under this marble lies all that was mortal of Thomas Moore STP, of a stock, if it is sought, of the honourable man Henry Moore, STP, of whom the father was Henry, Earl of Drogheda, in the Kingdom of Ireland, the second born son. If (it is sought) concerning issue (ther was) none. He left after him a widow, alas! Elizabeth the sole daughter of Thomas Hare, Baronet, of Stow Bardolph in the County of Norfolk., etc
