Jeden z nielicznych w Europie gotyckich kościołów dwupoziomowych. Piękna, bogato rozczłonkowana bryła kościoła i skomplikowane, dziewięciopolowe sklepienia naw bocznych górnego kościoła czynią z niego perłę architektury gotyckiej. W prezbiterium górnego kościoła znajdował się niegdyś nagrobek fundatora, księcia Henryka IV Prawego (obecnie we wrocławskim Muzeum Narodowym), najwspanialszy przykład kompozycji nagrobnej z okresu średniowiecza. Tumbę zdobią postacie opłakujące księcia, a na płycie wierzchniej przedstawiony został on sam w rycerskiej zbroi, z tarczą i mieczem w dłoniach. Kościół ufundowany został 11 stycznia 1288 r. na pamiątkę zakończenia konfliktu księcia z biskupem Tomaszem II (1270-1292). W latach 1502-1538 scholastykiem kolegiaty świętokrzyskiej był Mikołaj Kopernik. W czasie wojny trzydziestoletniej kościół sprofanowany został przez stacjonujące na Ostrowie Tumskim wojska szwedzko-brandemburskie. W dolnym kościele urządzono wówczas stajnię. W czasie II wojny światowej komendant twierdzy planował natomiast urządzenie w dolnym kościele bunkra dowództwa. <a href="http://www.wroclaw.pl/m3275/p3690.aspx" rel="noreferrer nofollow">www.wroclaw.pl/m3275/p3690.aspx</a> The magnificent Holy Cross collegiate church, constructed at the end of the fourteenth century, appears along the route of our walk. The unique two-storey temple of St. Bartholomew and the Holy Cross was called a Polish church in the nineteenth century. The statue of Jan of Nepomuk, sculptured by Jan Jerzy Urbański in 1732, stands in front of the church. <a href="http://www.wroclaw.pl/m46360/p46363.aspx" rel="noreferrer nofollow">www.wroclaw.pl/m46360/p46363.aspx</a> Auf der Strecke taucht prächtige Stiftskirche zum Hl. Kreuz auf, die Ende 14. Jh. entstanden ist. Die einmalige zweistöckige Bartholomäus- und Kreuzkirche wurde im 19. Jh. polnische Kirche genannt. Vor der Kirche steht die Statue des hl.
