Description
Deutsch: 22.11.2009 01662 Meißen, Schreberstraße 5 (GMP: 51.160400,13.46832): Turnhalle am oberen Teil der Justusstufen. Die Jahnhalle ist ein bemerkenswerter Sportbau, der 1894-1895 nach Plänen des Stadtbaumeisters Frey errichtet wurde. Die Ausführung lag in den Händen des bekannten Meißner Baumeisters Georg Gröschel. Anfänglich diente die Halle dem örtlichen Turnverein Frisch-Auf. Nicht nur mit dem Namen der Halle, sondern auch einer Büste gedachte man seiner Zeit Friedrich-Ludwig Jahn (auch Turnvater Jahn), der die deutsche Turnbewegung initiierte.
