I have seen quite abit of this polypore this fall. Wondering about the name “I. benzoinum” which was proposed in the linked obs.

Much of what I have examined this year did not exhibit much of the chatacteristic “resin” of I. resinosum. We did receive quite a bit of rainfall, so maybe this had a related effect.
