Description2012- Swiss Glockenspiel Clock, Leicester Square, London, UK ( Ank Kumar ) 02.jpg |
English: The Swiss Glockenspiel (Chimes) clock standing on the intersection of Coventry street and Leicester Square, is a popular tourist attraction in London, England, United Kingdom.
The Swiss glockenspiel was redesigned and restored by the clockmakers Smith of Derby in November 2011 with the Swiss Confederation’s 26 state flags a few feet’s away. The Glockenspiel is maintained to this day by Smith of Derby since 2011. It is a free-standing totem design and features 11 moving Swiss figures against a traditional Swiss alpine backdrop, images of the 26 Swiss cantons, 27 bells, 4 Swiss bell ringers and 2 clocks at the top of the structure. The bells chime and a five-minute performance takes place several times a day for the people passing by. https://www.myswitzerland.com/de/microsites/gb/swiss-anglo-connections/ https://www.smithofderby.com/swiss-glockenspiel-returns/ |
