Description
Deutsch: Wenige Kilometer hinter dem Bahnhof Schlettau in Richtung Annaberg befindet sich ehemalige Abzweigbahnhof Walthersdorf. Hier begann die berühmte Stichstrecke durch das obere Zschopautal über Walthersdorf Hp. nach Crottendorf. Nach der Eröffnung beider Strecken 1889 fand über 100 Jahre im Bahnhof Walthersdorf ein umfangreicher Bahnbetrieb im Personen- und Güterverkehr statt. Ende der 80er Jahre mit dem Einsatz der Dampflokomotiven der BR 86 die Bahn bei deutschen und europäischen Eisenbahnfreunden bekannt. Mit der Einstellung des Bahnbetriebes auf der Stichstrecke nach Crottendorf nahm sich der sächsische Eisenbahnfreund Claus Schlegel des verwahrlosten Bahnhofs an und versetzte ihn wieder in den Ursprungszustand von 1889. Im original restaurierten Königlich Sächsischen Museumsbahnhof Walthersdorf ist heute eine umfangreiche Sammlung von Eisenbahnutensilien ausgestellt.
