Image title	Water supply pipes lead from the Sacramento River to pumps that supply water to a farm using micro irrigation near Interstate 5, seen in distance, and nearby Sacramento International Airport, on Wednesday, Apr. 15, 2015. Local farmers report 30-50% increases in yield, by using micro irrigation to reduce water use, and lower power costs to run pumps, amongst other cost and environmental benefits. Many farmers have turned to micro irrigation during the current drought. From technical support to cost shared equipment and other programs, producers can seek help from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) a voluntary program that provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural producers. Micro irrigation includes drip tubes that seep water below ground at the level of the plant roots; tubes on the ground that drip water in the row of plants, and elevated micro-sprinklers for tree orchards.
