| Description |
The Perkins County Conservation District planted cover crop demonstration plots during 2015. Agricultural production in the area can be limited by lack of precipitation. The soils for the cover crop test plot are FcB (Felor-Yegen loams, 2-6 percent slopes) and BcA (Belfield-Grail silt loams, 0-2 percent slopes). Staff from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Plant Materials Center and the local NRCS provided technical assistance for establishing the plots and designing the seed mixture. Progress is being monitored and these images provide a photo documentation for the success. In this photo, Kale is the plant featured.
