| Description | Eurasian watermilfoil pulled from the waters near the Tahoe Keys in South Lake Tahoe, California on Aug. 24, 2015. Eurasian watermilfoil is one of many aquatic invasive species that pose a major threat to ecosystem health of the Lake Tahoe Basin. Invasive species degrade water quality, destroy important habitat for native species and impact water conveyance structures. The Corps has been partnering on ecosystem restoration projects including work to combat invasive species in the Lake Tahoe Basin since 2005. (U.S. Army photo by Luke Burns / Released) |
