English: Plaque on the outer wall of the vieringscrypte ("crossing crypt"), one of four crypts in the Basilica of Saint Servatius in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The crypt was largely reconstructed by Pierre Cuypers in 1881, after it had been demolished in 1811. The Latin text reads: "hec crypta infidis perfracta manibus, piis erigitur ubi secundo contingit integrata sacri thesauri solemnitas" (possible translation: "This crypt destroyed by unfaithful hands, was erected by pious [hands] to contain once again the sacred treasures"). The chronogram contains the two years of demolition and reconstruction: 1811 and 1881.
