Summary edit

Description
English: Detail of a relief on a column in Mariapark in the centre of Sittard, the Netherlands. This is not a park as the name suggests but a devotional site in the shape of a cloisters, built in 1891 after a design by Johannes Kayser. The building was aimed at the many pilgrims that visited the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Mary, also built by Kayser, situated accross the street. One of the columns near the entrance bears the coats of arms and motto (Lumen in coelo) of pope Leo XIII, who in 1883 bequested the title of basilica minor to the church.
