Description

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue and Minister Bi Jingquan of the China Food and Drug Administration meet to discuss the two nations’ food regulatory environments in hopes of increasing transparency, information sharing and the use of science-based standards. The two agriculture leaders signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate U.S.-China cooperation on food safety issues. This agreement comes at a time when China is working to modernize its food safety regime.
