Summary edit

Description
English: The New England Museum of Natural History was established by the Boston Society of Natural History, which was founded in 1830. After occupying a number of temporary locations in Boston's Financial District, in 1864 the museum moved into a new building at 234 Berkeley Street at the corner of Newbury Street and a facade on Boylston Street in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston. The building was designed for the museum by William Gibbons Preston in the Romanesque Revival style. In 1951, the Society became the Museum of Science and moved to its current site on the Charles River Dam Bridge. Since 2013, the building has been the Boston flagship store for Restoration Hardware, which restored and renovated the building. (Source: Architectural Digest)
