Description
Deutsch: Der Brunnen auf dem Vorplatz der Kirche St. Maria und Clemens wurde von Jochem Pechau geschaffen. Die Arbeit wurde nach seinem Tod von Theo Heiermann beendet.

Er wurde am 17. September 1989 durch Weihbischof Dr. Josef Plöger geweiht und besteht aus Westerwälder Trachyt. Den Brunnen krönt eine, in Anlehnung an eine Hodegetria gestaltete, Madonna mit Jesuskind. In der Mitte jeder Seitenfläche sitzen die Symbolfiguren der vier Evangelisten: eine geflügelte menschliche Gestalt für Matthäus, ein geflügelter Löwe für Markus, ein geflügelter Stier für Lukas und der Adler für Johannes.

Auf den Dachflächen befinden sich folgende Inschriften und Wappen:

Vorderseite: „AQUARIUM igitur / VIVENTIUM PUTEUS / id est sanctarum scriptu / rarum sacrarium / SOROR MEA / SPONSA / tu es“ (Übersetzung Pfarrer Karl Königs: „Brunnen, lebendiger Wasser, heiliger Schriften geweihtes Behältnis bist du, meine Schwester Braut“. Hohe Lied 4, 12 und 15). Die Worte der Heiligen Schrift stehen in großen, die Erläuterung Rupert von Deutz’ in kleineren Buchstaben.

Rückseite: „sanCtae DeI genItrICI / et rVperto tVItIensI/ anno IVbILaeI CIVItatIs / DeDICatVs“ (Übersetzung Pfarrer Karl Königs: „(Dieser Brunnen) ist der heiligen Gottesmutter und Rupert von Deutz im Jubeljahr der Stadt (2000 Jahre Bonn) gewidmet“). Die hervorgehobenen Großbuchstaben als römische Zahlen ergeben hier das Jahr 1989 (DDD CCCC L VVVVV IIIII IIIII IIII).
