Grenzfeste gegründet worden sein. 1410 erste urkundliche Erwähnung. Die Herrschaft Liebstadt war bis zur Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts in der Hand der Herren von Bünau. 1774

ersteigerte Hans Carl August von Carlowitz die Herrschaft Liebstadt. Die von Carlowitz machten das Schloß zum Hauptsitz der sächsischen Freimaurerloge. In der DDR Volkseigentum und für Wohnungen genutzt. 1954 wurde ein Museum eingerichtet. 2006 privatisiert. 2018 Eigentümerwechsel. [SAM9230.JPG]20190204130DR.JPG(c)Blobelt
