It is the temple in Dhangacha, Chapaugaun, Lalitpur, Nepal. This small looking temple was built many years ago and has its own value. This temple is not known by many people. The interesting part is it dont has gods inside but a lotus like stucture.

English: This temple in Dhangacha or Dhangasi is enclosed by walls of about 4 feet in two sides and twi of the side is enclosed by the small old house. Here, we can find two more two temples;One in the room where the lord buddha is kept and another near the the room where we can find the small structures of buddha facing four directions;carved in the stone. This temple has a intresting thing that it dont have gods inside but a lotus like stucture with a small hole in its middle.
Once in a year, in this place rhere is a baidya jatra (Newars jatra celebrating end of winter) in the end of winter in which a person gets in the outfit of buddhas metal sculpture and that people revolves around the village with baidya(buddha) who will not get to wear any shoes to protect his feet. It is bealived that after having the baidya dance around the village the soil gets heated and the winter ends. |
