English: 80. rocznica agresji sowieckiej na Polskę: Wojewoda podlaski oddał hołd poległym i pomordowanym.
17 września 1939 roku na wschodnie ziemie II Rzeczypospolitej wkroczyła Armia Czerwona. Za sowieckim atakiem, nazywanym czwartym rozbiorem Polski, szły represje, kolejne wywózki Polaków i mord w Katyniu. Wojewoda podlaski Bohdan Paszkowski, oddając hołd ofiarom tej napaści, złożył we wtorek kwiaty przed Pomnikiem-Grobem Nieznanego Sybiraka przy kościele Ducha Świętego w Białymstoku. 17 września to od 2013 r. także Międzynarodowy Dzień Sybiraka. Obchodzony jest na mocy uchwały Sejmu. Izba ustanawiając go oddała hołd wszystkim zesłańcom: tym, którzy zginęli, tym, którzy wrócili do Polski, tym, którzy wyemigrowali do innych części świata, jak i tym, którzy pozostali w miejscy zesłania i tam kultywowali polskość. |
