Il Monumento al Bersagliere è opera dell'architetto Mancini e dello scultore Publio Morbiducci. L'inaugurazione solenne avvenne il 18 settembre 1932: alto circa 6 metri e pesante più di 2 tonnellate, fu eretto naturalmente in ricordo del trionfale ingresso in città dei bersaglieri. Fu installato davanti a Porta Pia e non alla breccia per non urtare le sensibilità pontificie dopo la firma dei Patti Lateranensi e articolato in modo che esaltasse il valore unificante di questo corpo militare.
