Summary edit

Description
English: Dresden: The Blockhaus - The Neustädter Wache on the west side of the Neustädter bridgehead of the Augustusbrücke is called the Blockhaus in Dresden. The detached building is located on Neustädter Markt, a few meters from the Goldener Reiter. It was probably named Blockhaus for two reasons: because of its cube-like design and because of its original use as a control and customs station. The architect was Zacharias Longuelune. The building is to be renovated for 20 million euros in order to then include the archive of the avant-garde of the 20th century by the art collector Egidio Marzona.
