Summary edit

Description
English: The School Street Power Plant of Brookfield Renewable Energy in Cohoes, New York, is a hydroelectric plant powered by Cohoes Falls. It was originally established in 1915-1920 when its General Electric turbines were installed, and provided power for the Harmony Mills, one of the world's largest cotton mills complexes, which opened in 1872. Water from the Mohawk River to power the facility's 5 turbines is diverted into a power canal about a miles upstream from the plant. (Sources: [1], Signs on site)
