Description
Deutsch: Pirna.Schloss und Park Sonnenstein: Das Schloss Sonnenstein ist eine teilweise erhaltene Burg-Festung im Pirnaer Stadtteil Sonnenstein mit umfangreich angelegten Außenanlagen. Erstmals 1269 genannt, sicherte die oberhalb der Altstadt gelegene Festung die Wege von Stolpen nach Prag und vom Königstein nach Meißen. Seit Dezember 2011 ist es Verwaltungssitz des Landkreises Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. Um 1902 wurde die Anstaltskirche geweiht. 1939 wurde die Kirche von den Nazis entweiht und die Inneneinrichtung zertrümmert. In den Jahren 1940 und 1941 ermordeten die Nationalsozialisten auf dem Sonnenstein 13720 vorwiegend psychisch kranke und geistig behinderte Menschen in einer Gaskammer.
