Description
Nederlands: Schatkamer van de Onze-Lieve-Vrouwebasiliek in Tongeren, onderdeel van het museum Teseum (waarvan ook een geconserveerde archeologische site deel uit maakt). Hier een 14e-eeuws evangeliarium met verguld zilverbeslag. Centraal staat hier Maria met om haar heen de heiligen Petrus met sleutel en Paulus met zwaard. In de vier hoeken zie je de symbolen van de evangelisten. Bovenaan de adelaar van Johannes en de engel van Matteus, onderaan de leeuw van Marcus en de os van Lucas. Op de lange zijden wordt bovenaan Jezus gedoopt en zijn onderaan Johannes de Doper en Johannes de Evangelist afgebeeld. De vier zijden zijn in het midden voorzien van dikke kristallen knoppen, ingelijst in zilver. Het boek is tevens van grote muzikale waarde en bevat een polyfone lectio met de genealogie van Christus. Het boek levert het muzikale bewijs dat de polyfonie in de loop van de 13e eeuw in Vlaanderen was ingeburgerd. Hoogte: 34 cm. Breedte: 25 cm. Inventarisnr. SK-204_BO-012.
