Description
English: Work to build a new high-level section of the sea wall at Dawlish has uncovered some stonework from Brunel's original Colonnade Viaduct which was replaced by the current structure in 1928. This piece of carved granite (which is upside down) was one of the capitals that sat on top of the eight piers and two abutments to support the nine sets of girders.
