Description
English: Headquarters, Naval Forces Central (HNFC), Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, August 4, 2022 – Philippine Navy Vessels, BRP BATAK - LC299, Brp Tausug (LC295) and BRP Filipino Flojo - PC386 held its regular Naval Gun Exercise at Seawaters of Pacijan, Camotes Island, Cebu on July 31, 2022. Moreover, PC386 conducted its Operational Readiness Evaluation (ORE).

The activity aims to train and evaluate the Personnel on proper usage/handling of issued PN Firearms (M16A1 and .45 Pistol) and Naval Guns on board PN Vessels. This is also conducted to develop their confidence, skills and firing proficiency. Furthermore, the training also tests the condition and efficiency of the unit’s Firearms and Naval Guns as part of sustaining the highest level of operational readiness.

LCDR JONATHAN M LAYNO PN, Director, Fleet Operational Readiness Training and Evaluation Group (FORTEG) together with his Team led the ORE of the participating Vessels. A total of eleven (11) PN Reservists from Naval Reserve Center Eastern Visayas (NRCen-EV) boarded Naval Task Force 50 asset, LC299 and joined the said activity.

The ORE for PC386 yielded satisfactory results which depict the integrity of Personnel and its Equipment in ensuring the maximum operational readiness of the unit.
