Polski: W maju 1944 r. żołnierze 2. Korpusu Polskiego pod dowództwem gen. Władysława Andersa przełamali zacięty niemiecki opór i zdobyli klasztor na Monte Cassino, otwierając sprzymierzonym wojskom drogę na Rzym. Wojewoda podlaski Bohdan Paszkowski uczcił 78. rocznicę zwycięstwa polskiego oręża w tej bitwie, składając kwiaty przed Pomnikiem Polskich Sił Zbrojnych na Zachodzie w Białymstoku.
Wraz z wojewodą kwiaty przed Pomnikiem Polskich Sił Zbrojnych na Zachodzie złożyli przedstawiciele służb mundurowych. Hołd walczącym w Bitwie o Monte Cassino oddali organizatorzy uroczystości: Wojewódzka Rada Kombatantów i Osób Represjonowanych na czele z jej prezesem Tadeuszem Chwiedziem, Oddział w Białymstoku Krajowego Związku Byłych Żołnierzy Polskich Sił Zbrojnych na Zachodzie z prezesem zarządu płk. Bogdanem Toporem oraz przedstawiciele miasta. |
