Deutsch: Informationsstele zu Johanna Bickel, ) 23 Jahre lang stand sie der Höheren Töchterschule vor und führte die Schule durch schwierige Zeiten. Sie betrieb den Ausbau der Schule und deren Überführung in die öffentliche Hand, um die Bildungschancen der Mädchen zu erhöhen. Als die Schule auf ihr Betreiben in ein Lyzeum umgewandelt wurde, musste sie 1926 die Leitung der Schule einem Lehrer mit akademischer Ausbildung überlassen, die ihr als Frau seinerzeit verwehrt worden war.
English: Information stele about Johanna Bickel, she presided over the Höhere Töchterschule for 23 years and led the school through difficult times. She worked on the expansion of the school and its transfer to public ownership in order to increase the girls' educational opportunities. When the school was converted into a lyceum at her instigation, she had to hand over the management of the school to a teacher with academic training in 1926, which had been denied to her as a woman at the time.
