Description
Nederlands: Restanten van de vestingwerken van Wyck te Maastricht. Moderne gedenksteen ingemetseld in de 15e-16e-eeuwse uitbreiding van de Wycker stadsmuur, begin jaren 1990 opgegraven en geconserveerd in het ontwerp van het Centre Céramique (Jo Coenen, 2000). De steen uit 1997 memoreert de inzet van Maastrichtenaar Sjo Notten voor het behoud van de muurrestanten. De tekst luidt: "Toen men in 1598 deze muur liet bouwen · om alle strijders uit de stad te weren · heeft niemand voorzien dat 4 eeuwen later · Sjo Notten nog voor deze muur zou strijden · 28 november 1997".
