„Nach dem Freiwerden des alten Rathauses im Jahre 1863 eröffnete Seidel und Kurth in diesen Räumen eine Schankstätte, die bald von Seidel allein übernommen wurde und nach ihm den Namen 'Seidelei' erhielt. Später wurde der Name in 'Reichsseidelei' verändert. Der gröbste Wirt in der Stadt soll der alte Seidel gewesen sein. Einst standen drei Herren aus Chemnitz auf dem Markt, unschlüssig wohin sie sich wenden sollen, um das 'Urvieh' kennenzulernen. Vom Eekfenster seiner Gaststube aus beobachtete Seidel-Karl die Fremden. Schließlich näherte sich einer der Herren dem Wirt, und nun kam es zu folgendem Auftritt: 'Können Sie uns sagen, wo hier das Gasthaus mit dem groben Wirt ist?' - 'Leek mich am A ... !' - 'Hallo, kommt her!
