View over the River Kelvin to the Riverside Museum and new Govan-Partick Bridge

Summary

edit
Description
English: View over the River Kelvin to its confluence with the River Clyde, with the Riverside Museum on the left. The new Govan-Partick Bridge, across the Clyde, is rotated to its open position out of the way of shipping. It was built in Belgium, towed to Glasgow by tug Elisa, and arrived on 14 October 2023 at the the Yorkhill Quay site adjacent to the museum car park. Its moving main span was lifted into place on 17 October by floating sheerleg crane Hebo-Lift 10. Work on the north pier and northern approach works is to be ready in Summer 2024 for installation of the connecting fixed span linking the bridge to Pointhouse Quay at the museum.
