Description The 249th Airlift Squadron welcomed a new commander during a change of command ceremony on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, June 4. Lt. Col. Kenneth J. Radford Jr., the outgoing commander, transferred responsibility of the 249 AS and their fleet of C-17 Globemaster III aircraft to Lt. Col. Kirk G. Palmberg during the ceremony.
