Description
English: Class 181s took charge of many cross-border trains from Germany into Eastern France and as such were dual voltage - 15kV for Germany and 25kV for France. Seen here at Frankfurt (Main) Hbf on 25 July 1985, 181.217 waits departure on a EuroCity service bound for Paris Est. The class 181 will work through to Metz-Ville via Saarbrücken. Following a reversal at Metz, the trains normally continued to Paris hauled by SNCF class BB 15000.
