Français : Lille (France - dép du Nord) – Grand'Place, le 28 octobre 1918 : Le général Birwood porte le drapeau, emblème de Lille, lors du défilé organisé à l'occasion de l'entrée officielle des troupes Alliées dans la Ville.
  • les troupes britanniques ont fait leur entrée solennelle dans la ville de Lille pavoisée dans toutes ses rues. Plus de 200 000 personnes s’écrasaient, enthousiastes, de la porte de Canteleu au boulevard Carnot, pour voir défiler, musique en tête, les soldats de la 5e armée, sous les ordres du général Birdwood qu’entourait un brillant état-major.
